Hi,

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic medication commonly used to numb the skin or mucous membranes. It is not typically used to treat overdose of unknown pills, and administering an overdose of lidocaine could have serious consequences.

If a patient were to receive an overdose of lidocaine, it could result in various symptoms such as seizures, confusion, dizziness, blurred vision, difficulty breathing, and potentially cardiac arrest. Symptoms would depend on the dose and speed of administration.

It is important for medical professionals to always double-check the medication and dosage before administering it to the patient, as medication errors can have serious consequences. In the case of a suspected overdose of unknown pills, the appropriate treatment would depend on the specific pills ingested and the patient's symptoms, and should be determined by a medical professional.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
