What Hinders Urine Output For Over Eight Hours?

Had ingual hernia operation on Thursday. No urination for 8 hours. Catheter in and out. Sent home. No urination Thursday night. E R visit 5 AM Friday. Catheter re inserted. Sent home. Getting some blood in the bag and pain above and to the left of surgical site. Going to try and get catheter removed tomorrow AM. Should I wait till tomorrow or re visit the ER. Pain is 4-5 on a 10 scale. Surgical site looks OK. Some puffiness and discoloration, sore but not out of control. Catheter still draining. Stops and starts. History of prominent Prostate per CT scan.

If you are not passing urine with pain and blood, it is necessary to visit ER. It may be due to acute kidney injury.
