General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Back problems are quite common. Many times it is helped by physiotherapy and drugs and don't need any treatment. However, in serious cases, the injection may be given in the back. These are steroids injection that relieves the swelling and inflammation in disc spaces and hence many times help the problem. Surgery is generally reserved as a last option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
