Hi, My aunt has advanced lung cancer. She has had all her treatment, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She has been told she has 6mths or less to live. She is about to start a treatment tomorrow which my uncle says is called CVA(abbre) and it consists of 2hour treatment once a week for 3 weeks. Can you tell me what it is and how it can help her. She has secondriy on her voice cords and swelling there.
CVA treatment for lung cancer are (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin [Adriamycin], and vincristine) medication of chimiotherapy too. Chemotherapy is a systemic treatment because the medications enter the bloodstream, travel throughout the body, and kill cancer cells wherever they are. However, some normal cells are also killed. This is responsible for some of the side effects of chemotherapy. Currently, cisplatin, etoposide, vincristine, doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide are the most commonly used medications for the treatment of patients with small-cell lung cancer.
So i wish good health for you and your aunt.
Thank you
