What Is Mupirocin Prescribed For?
About 2 weeks before my open-heart surgery, the hospital did a nose swab. When the results came bac, I was told I had an infection; but it wasn t MRSA. I was given Mupirocin Ointment to be applied inside my nose for 6 days. Do you have any idea what kind of infection I had?

Based on the history you might be having infection caused by streptococcus pyogenes for which your doctor has prescribed Mupirocin.
