Hi Doctor, I had a stress test done with the die injection and the dr in Kalamazoo wants me to have this test done and I was wondering if you could answer this. What is a 64/CTA? I had a echocard done and that came back fine. They said this is caused from stress.. Is that true?
Hi, Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic. 64/CTA is CT angiography in a 64 slice CT machine. Your doctor has advised you to undergo coronary CT angiography in a CT machine not less than 64 slice. The CT machine have evolved and nowadays we have machines with upto 320 slices. The more the number of slices in a machine the better it is in giving results. So please make sure that the machine is not less than 64 slices as that is minimum for getting a coronary angiography. The CT angiography should be able to detect your problem and any obstruction in the blood vessels of the heart. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery.
