What Is A Bluish Slimy Thing Blocking The Ear Canal Suggestive Of?
Hi, what do you think could be going on with my Mum s ear... She said it feels like there s something in there, and it looks kind of like a blueish slimy thing, but it could be her own infected inner ear or something and what she feels could be fluid... Her hearing in that ear is like when you re blocking your ears with your fingers... What do you think?
Noted the history about your Mother having blocked ear with something that is seen in the same ear. The causes can be as follows: Was as is commonly called is basically the dead skin of the ear canal that is accumulated. Removal of this can help her to hear normally. If there is pus then it is obviously seen and needs a proper prescription based management under the care of an ENT Surgeon. Another reason can be fungus and needs local antifungal drops and cleaning. Please consult your ENT Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation, examination and management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
