Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is A Dark Spot In The Corner Of The Eye Suggestive Of?
My daughter developed a dark spot in the corner of her eye. It is not a floater as it does not move. She described it as if you were looking outwards, it appeared as though you had something stuck on your mascara. She tried several times to get the spot off her mascara but to no avail. This spot appeared suddenly yesterday afternoon. It is not visible to the naked eye through a magnifying mirror.
First of all, it's sad to know what your daughter had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, she should have an ophthalmologist review and slit lamp examination as well as examination of visual fields and fundoscopy.
It can be due to vitreous hemorrhage or any other opacity inside if not visible on external examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
