What Is A Good Substitute For Yasmin (as It Causes Anxiety Issues) Apart From Levlen/microgynon As Both These Cause Weight Gain?
Hi I was on Yasmin for over 3 years, however have decided to change pills due to anxiety issues on Yasmin. I was previously on Levlen ED when i was 17 however gained a lot of weight (went from a size 8 to a size 12 in under a month)
My gynecologist prescribed microgynon 30 ED to me, however i am hesitant to start as I do not want to gain weight like i did on Levlen ED - I have done some research on the internet and can see that Levlen ED & Microgynon 30 ED are very similar.
Oral contraceptives is associated with weight gain in some women but it is not fore gone conclusion that you will gain weight. Some women do not.
Some medications cause weight gain but altering the appetite.
There are ways to reduce the chance of weight gain. It would require either using foods with low fat/low calorie or using low carb foods. If you use these foods the chance of gaining any extra weight would be reduced.
I hope this helps
