Can New Versions Of Birth Control Cause Blood Clots In Body?
Hi there, so I have been wanting to get on the birth control pill for a couple years now but I've always been too afraid to do so. We had a family friend die at age 20 after having a stroke while on the birth control Yaz. I recognize that the pills containing drospirenone and other newer generation progestins supposedly hold a higher risk than the older generation, but I hear so many stories online of young, healthy girls getting blood clots on all different and supposedly safer, lower dose brands of the pill. Could it be that a lot of these girls have Factor V Leiden and just don't realize it? I can't imagine that all of them do. I could use some insight. I feel like I get so many contradicting responses from health professionals and I just don't know who to believe. Thank you!
As you have heard there are side effects of deep vein thrombosis and stroke with birth control pills. But each one has their own risk for developing these side effects. If you are so worried about pills then are also lot of options for birth control like implants, intrauterine device, tubal block etc. You can always have a second opinion and take a decision on what you choose.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
