What Is A Painful Lump Around The Ear Of A Child Suggestive Of?
My 12 year old son showed me this morning a smaller than pea-size lump in front of his left ear that is slightly painful when pushed on. He can also push the lump around a bit as well. I m a little more concerned than usual because he is deaf in his right ear. Thank you in advance for your anticipated help/advise. Sincerely. Jane

It could be a preauricular sinus.
Consult an ENT specialist and evaluated.
Generally, it can be managed conservatively, sometimes surgical correction is required.
