What Is A Raw Patch Of Skin On The Back With Burning Sensation Suggestive Of?
I have a patch of skin on my back that looks completely normal but feels raw and burns to touch. There is no rash or abrasions, my muscle underneath is not sore, only the skin. I have never had this before, and it has been going on for about two weeks.
It is possible that the irritated area is due to shingles if there is a previous history of chicken pox.
Shingles can present in this way.
You can consider visiting your doctor to determine if this is the case. Treatment consists of pain medication and anti viral medication can be used as well.
There is a shingles vaccine that can prevent recurrent attacks of shingles.
I hope this helps
