What Is A Small Lump At The Top Of Buttock Suggestive Of?

Hi, I have a small lump at the top of my buttox. As long as I can remember I have had it and it has been fine. I woke up this morning and found some pain when sitting on a bench, but it only seems to be when sitting on a hard surface (but I can sit fine with my legs crossed on them). This is the only time I am experiencing pain. What could this be? Should I worry?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
If it has been there for a long time there is probably no need to worry. It sounds like it is probably a cyst. Have your doctor take a look at it since it has started to be painful
Regards
