General & Family Physician 's  Response
Neck lymph nodes are usually enlarged due to local infection. These nodal swellings usually take time to resolve completely even after clearance of infection.
Advice
1.     Hot fomentation with slight warm water every 6 hours
2.     Amoxicillin 500 mg every 8 hours per oral daily for 7 days
3.     Ibuprofen 600 mg per oral after meal if pain occurs
4.     Investigation – CBC and Hb%
If after 7 days course of amoxicillin, your mother’s neck swelling does not resolve then get done Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) of enlarged lymph node.
Thanks
