What is adenomyosis - and can ovarian cancer be overlooked in internal ultrasound - if pain still persists in pelvis and blood pressure recently high 155/96 - I am 58 and post menopause and has fibroids removed 14 years ago - should I query ring on ovary echogenicity
Hi, adenomyosis is a condition in which the endometrial tissue grows into the myometrium. It can lead to severe dysmenorrhoea and lower abdominal pain and abnormal uterine bleeding. It can be treated by high doses progesterone but generally it requires hysterectomy. Ovarian cancer is difficult to miss on internal ultrasound because ovaries will appear large or some cysts will be there. Hope I have answered your question.
