What Is An Alternative Of Naproxen For The Treatment Of Arthritis?

My doctor place me on Naproxen for my arthritis. But I do not feel like it is working. But I have only been on it for 4 days. I was taking Celebrex and I felt real good on this medication, but I have been on it for a long time. Now insurance will not pay for Celebrex do to cost of medication. Is there another inexpensive drug that has a fast acting rerelease like Celebrex.

Hello,

Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns.

Instead of Naproxen, you could try Aceclofenac 100 mg, take one tablet once or twice a day, take it with food, if taken on empty stomach it can cause gastritis symptoms. You can also take Ranitidine 150 mg twice a day to prevent gastritis.

You could also take Paracetamol 500-1000 mg 3-4 times/day along with Aceclofenac. I hope you are not allergic to Paracetamol and that you dont have any liver problems.

I hope this answer has been helpful to you.
