Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 63. I have found a tiny spot of blood on my panties a couple of times over the last 3 weeks. It s definitely from urine (I just now had a tiny bit on the toilet paper, not panty). I am obese. No one in my family has had cancer. Should I see a doctor? I m due to see my Primar Caregiver in 1 month. Should I call for an earlier appt ?
I can understand your concern. It is possible that you are suffering from mild urinary tract infection and as it is mild, you are seeing occasional blood in urine while not having any other severe symptoms related to infection.
You should take antibiotics to cure the infection. Levofloxacin 250 mg (Levoflox 250) twice a day for five days should suffice. You can combine an antacid with this antibiotic. Drink lots of fluids to eliminate the infection faster.
The bleeding should disappear by the time you complete the five-day course of antibiotic. If it does not, then you should visit a physician for physical examination and further investigations into the cause.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
