What Is Causing Blood In Stool After Appendix Removal?
I have had painful stools after 2 months of having my appendix out but for the past week it s been hard to pass stools and there is always blood present. Today I noticed that my stool was covered in blood and I am beginning to worry about it now. What s happening?
Your appendix was removed 2 months ago and you have a problem of blood smeared hard stool for a week only. This indicates that you have got constipation with hard stools that might have caused fissure in anus or hemorrhoids.
This can be diagnosed by the following way:Get a consultation of a General Surgeon or a Proctologist for per-rectal digital examination and ano-proctoscopy to see for the cause of blood in stool.
Rarely a colonoscopy may be needed. This will allow to know the exact cause of your symptoms and get treated according to the cause found.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
