What Is Causing Breathing Difficulty, Shoulder And Back Pain At A Young Age?

I have difficulty breathing? Like I have asthma and stuff, but sometimes like when I take deep breaths I feel good, but if I breathe normally sometimes, I will get shortened breath. And also I have back pains like by my shoulders, it might be stress and tension in my muscles. I m only 13 about to be 14, so it is not because of old age, what could it be?

Hello,

In my opinion, we should first rule out asthma in your case. So consult pulmonologist and get done a clinical examination of the respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).

If PFT is normal then no need to worry about asthma. At the age of 13, stress and anxiety can also cause similar symptoms. To avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.

Consult a psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs too.

Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
