What Is Causing Low Platelet Levels?

Hello Doctor. I am 38, male. Part of routine check up, I did CBC which showed 130k plateletes while all other results including haemoglobin, WBC and ESR within normal limit. After 20 days, I redid the rest and now platelets dropped to 111k. This time again all other results are within normal limit. My Cholesterol, SGPT are within normal range but on the border line. I have psoriasis, anal fissure and had Hepatisis A 20 years back. I am deeply worried. Please suggest.

Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have slightly decreased platelets. There are many causes of low platelet count. Most common cause is viral infection. So don't worry about that. If Iit remains persistent then you should go for bone marrow examination. In between ifyou have aany signs of bleeding then consult your doctor urgently. No treatment is required right now.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
