Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My left shoulder and arm have been uncomfortable for 4 days. Yesterday afternoon my heart rate was 102. Went to the Red Cross (I'm a gringo living in a remote area in Mexico). The EKG was inconclusive. No other symptoms. I am a 55 year old female. Slightly overweight (10 lbs) recently quit smoking and had a hysterectomy in my late 30's. No injury to my left shoulder or arm. The aches in my left arm and shoulder are ongoing.

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, It is my pleasure to answer your query. I had gone through history and understand your concern. Pain in left arm and shoulder may be due to muscular problem or nerve problem. It is very difficult to identify the causes based on the history. But the symptoms may be neurological. As the pain is predominantly in your left arm and left shoulder, the cause could be a radiculopathy. I Suggest you to undergo evaluation by a doctor. After the examination it can be determined whether the pain is due to muscular, neurologic, or otherwise. Then we can decide whether or not you need referral to a neurologist. Hope I have cleared your doubt. Looking forward for the queries Thank you.
