What Is Course Of Treatment For Enlargement On Right Side Of Heart?
I am 26 yrs old with symptoms of concern. I frequently get light headed dizziness and feel like I m going to black out. I get palpatations shortness of breath. I had an EKG today and was told by my pcp that there is a slight enlargement on the rt side of my heart. I went to see her for a swollen lymph node on my jaw and a cold sore on my lip which I often get. When I was 15 yrs old I was having symptoms of palpatations and sob and dizziness and the dr gave me an event monitor and it showed PVC if I remember correctly. I was sent to an endocrinologist and he ran so test and said I was fine. I am not sure what to do. Should I see a cardiologist for a full work up? My pcp didn t seem worried about my EKG result. Thank you for you time. Andrea
The ECG is not enough for the detection of right heart enlargement. I would advise you to undergo echocardiography, which is more accurate method to evaluate sizes of heart structures. And if you continue to have palpitations there may be need to repeat event monitoring or holter monitoring.
Hope I could help you
