What Is Excessive Burping A Sign Of?

I am constantly burping. I burp at least every three to four minutes and ten plus burps every time. I have had colonoscopies..CT scans...and xrays that always show nothing. my family physician cant seem yo find any results. This has been ongoing for over a year and seems to be getting worse. Thank you for your attention.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my clinical curriculum, the burping may be indicative of so
many underlying disorders as - stomach or duodenal ulcer - chronic gastritis or duodenitis from various reasons - pancreas problems as inflammation or others - gall bladder pathology - bile drainage disturbances - problems with liver, diaphragm - hiatus hernia - endocrine mediated - others.

* In our clinic, I recommend a primary evaluation with Upper GI endoscopy and proceed further for definite cure.

Welcome for any further doubts.

Take care.
