What Is Left Abdominal Pain Radiating To The Back Suggestive Of?
I have pain on the left side of my abdomen which radiates toward my back. The pain began about 3 days ago , is accompanied by a gassy feeling, persists at a moderate level all day long and becomes uncomfortable enough at night to wake me. It is not relieved by a bowel movement.

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Harshita's Response
Hi,
1. Left abdominal pain radiating towards the back is mostly a sign of acute pancreatitis.
2. It can also be due to gastritis but that won't wake you up from your sleep.
3. Avoid eating fried food, greasy food and junk food.
4. Take some antiacids like Digene syrup and can also take tablet Omeprazole orally before breakfast.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Harshita, Infectious Diseases Specialist
