What Is Lobulation Of The Cortex?
what is lobulation of the cortex? My mother is 82 and has had cat scans and tests done before and we Have never heard this issue before. we know it is new and not any form of birth issue ! I am very concerned that it may be cancer or that she is going into renal failure She is now showing signs of hyperthroid and her vitamin D is extremely low I know that both can be caused from renal issues .. Doctor said I think we just see a cyst and I am now looking into new doctor As I do not want to hear Do not worry it is probably a cyst AND NOT find out ! Was also told that the more tests we put her thru the more they will find YES I HAVE started searching for a new doctor I just need to know what Lobulation of the cortex means THANK YOU

The cortex of the kidney is the outside part. Lobulation means that instead of it being smooth and rounded it shows up as different areas that are rounded along the outside of the kidney. The CT scan is pretty good at showing cancer so the most common cause of lobulation would be cysts. I hope you get an answer soon.
