What Is Meaning Of Placenta Is Anterior And Placenta Maturity Is Grade 1?

Hi Doctor, I travelled extensively when I was in 14th week of pregnancy. This is my 2nd pregnancy. Ultrasound after my travel in 14th week shows Placenta is Anterior. Lower End of Placenta shows collection measuring 14.8*9.3mm. Placenta maturity is grade 1. What does that mean/? Doc asked me to take bed rest. How severe is my problem. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated. Thanks and Regards

Thanks for writing to HCM

Your doctor has rightly suggested you to take rest.
According to reports, there is a small collection at the lower end of placenta measuring 14.8 X 9.3 mm.It may be due to premature mild placental separation.
You should take rest and avoid strenuous activity,other wise it will aggravate the situation.
Generally small collection get resolve with the advancement of pregnancy.
Rest of the findings are normal.Maturity of placenta is grade 1 and it is situated in anterior wall of the uterus.
