Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am a 27 year old female 5 1 and 125 lbs. My doctor says she has me as mood disorder in my chart. I also have mitral valve prolapse an dysautonomia. I take atenolol 25 mg Cymbalta 120 mg valium 2 mg as needed Seroquel 100-200 mg at bed time and 1/4 to 1/2 in the day and suboxone 8 mg strip twice a day to come off pain pills. I was wondering what does it mean to have a mood disorder?
In mood disorder, our mood (the state of mind) becomes abnormal- either we become more anxious (called the anxiety disorder) or become depressed. Sometimes a combination happens (bipolar disorder).
Individuals with anxiety disorder are agitated and become anxious to even trivial things, while those with depression are dull, with poor sleep/appetite and may have social withdrawal. Your doctor will discuss in details.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
