Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an MRI of both hips with the results listed as: There is a moderate degree of edema identified at the gluteus medius insertion with a crescentic fluid bursal collection measuring 3.6cm in superior-inferior diameter with a transverse diameter of approximately 0.9cm. Findings indicate the presence of a gluteus medius insertional tear. Additional edema is present overlying the lesser trochanter, compatible with ilopsoas insertional injury without abnormality identified within the visualized portions of the remainder of the left iliopsoas. There is no joint effusion, para labral cyst or definite features of labral tear demonstrated. After undergoing physical therapy and the pain now extending in my buttocks and down my legs to the back of my knees, I don t know how to proceed. I m in constant pain, unable to sleep. My arms and shoulders are so sore from trying to brace my body to turn over in bed or when I get up from sitting.
You have bursitis and tendon tear which are painful. Take NSIAID like Ibuprofen for pain, continue physiotherapy, fomentation and visit some specialist of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
