i just had a question i got off implanon November 18th had a regular period December 21st and then didnt have on until January 27th so my cycle length was 37 days which is not normal i ususally am right on time 28 days so when it ask my cycle length do i use the 37 days or 28 since that what is usually is?
The progesterone implant is very effective birth control that works by suppressing the normal function of your ovaries. When it is in place, you basically do not ovulate.
Once it is removed, it might take several months for this effect to go away. Your cycle length at this point is slightly uncertain so it is hard to say what is normal.
When you ovulate, normally you get a predictable withdrawal bleed about two weeks later. So, the variation in ovulation that you are experiencing is actually normal.
If you are trying to get pregnant, then consider using ovulation predictor kits which you can buy over the counter.
This will give you a sense of what is going on with your cycles. I would assume that they will 'normalize' after a couple more months.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
