What Is My Lumbar Spine X-ray Report Suggestive Of?

Hi, I went for lumbar spine x-ray, results is that there is a mild L3-L4 space narrowing. Vascular calcifications noted. Round densities in the sacrum, also that I must consider bone island. I dont now really what all this means all that I know I got a terrible back pain and leg pain that I sometimes hardly can get up. My legs also swells a lot and pain in the night from my hip to my knee. And I got a bladder problem with infection all the time. Can you explain all this to me. What treatment can I go for.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may indicate lumbar canal stenosis at L3-L4 level.

For further assessment you may require MRI back and nerve conduction studies.

For that you can take tablet acetaminophen. You may require tablet Pregabalin after consultation.

In case of not getting relief, you may require surgical intervention after spine surgeon consultation

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
