What Is My Scan Report Suggestive Of?

Hi, I have moderate COPD and the most recent Cat scan, done while hospitalized with an exacerbation, also showed the following: (1) coronary artery calcification (2) a few small nodular foci in the right upper nd right middle lobe measuring up to 3mm (3)mild bibasilar patchy atelectasis (4) mild left lung base fibrosis (5) mild thoracic spondylosis (6)mild hepatic steatosis. Are these things related to the COPD and hence of no concern? I have other conditions as well and am not on O2 but do use Spiriva res, adair and a rescue inhaler for the breathing. Are there any questions I should for sure ask my Dr at my hospital follow up appointment?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that coronary artery calcification is a sign of early artery disease and you should have an Echocardiogram done in consultation with a cardiologist.

Mild thoracic spondylosis and other findings have been caused due to COPD only except mild hepatosis that is somehow age-related, fats etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
