What Is My Thyroid Test Report Suggestive Of?

Hi , I have hypothyroidism since 5 years.Am on medication from then.Iam 28 Y Female,weighing 63 Kg.I have 2 kids.Currently am taking 125 mcg Thyronorm each 1 a day early morning.Now TSH value is THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE (TSH) C.L.I.A 6.26 µIU/ml REFERENCE RANGE( 0.30 - 5.5),normal T3 ,T4. Can i add 12.5 mg thyronorm to my current dose(125 mg thyronorm) .Please suggest. Thanks Sushma.

Hi & Welcome.
Based on the history and the lab tests, the dose of Thyronorm seems to be inadequate to control hypothyroidism.

You are advised to consult your treating doctor for the possible increment in the dose. Kindly repeat your thyroid function tests after 4-6 weeks to check the efficacy of the treatment.

The optimum TSH should be in the range of 0.4 to 4 mIU/mL for the adequate treatment of hypothyroidism.
