What Is Persistent Moderate Pain In Right Breast Suggestive Of?
hi....i ve been having moderate pain in my right breast. i recently had my annual mammogram (@3 months ago) and it was fine. I have had a breast reduction (@18 years ago) and there is some scar tissue. I don t feel anything out of the ordinary except for this pain I ve been experiencing for approximately 10-12 days now i think. It s getting fairly uncomfortable. it is not pain in my chest, so to speak as it is more in my actual breast and not the nipple. when i feel around i can locate the exact spot of the pain - central and inferior. and i m just wondering if this isn t simple aging aches and pains or if i should be seen by my physician. I m 54.
Because the pain is localized in only one area very likely this is due to local trauma. Many times patients do not recall when they were hurt. Having a breast exam and mammogram recently is reassuring.
I would advise you to take ibuprofen 600 mg every 6-8 hours after food and if the pain is not better in a week please see your doctor.
I hope this is helpful and answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further assistance is needed.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
