What Is Polyhydramnios?

Mod. Degree poly hydroamnois but no obvious sonographycally detectable G I tract, neural tract and cardiac or facial abnormalities in present study some developing anomalies and all the genetics Syndrome cant be rulled out even 3d and 4d. regular follow up is needed.E/O diachrotic notch in the uterine arteries - watch for IUGR & PIH

I understand your concern.. Polyhydramios means increased amount of amniotic fluid in the uterus. AFI>25 is considered as polyhydramnios theoritically but practcally AFI>18 is watched for with caution. Polyhydramnios can be due to gestational diabetes/diabetes in mother or any fetal anomalies like cleft lip, GI tract anomalies, neurological anomalies and genetic problems. Anomalies were not detected by this scan. But get a glucose challenge test to detect gestational diabetes. On doing a uterine artery doppler study there was a notch which indicates that there can be a diminished blood flow into the uterus which can lead to intrauterine growth restriction. Notching can be also an indicator of hypertension in pregnancy. Hope i have answered your queries. Good day.
