Hello Anand,

Welcome to Health Care Magic. I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBs Ag) is a protein on the surface of hepatitis B virus that can be detected in high levels in serum, as in your case during chronic hepatitis B virus infection. The presence of HBs Ag indicates that
you are infectious. The normal range for HBS Ag test using Cila Architect is between 500 and 1500iu/ml.
Hbs Ag is not enough to know the phase of your infection, HBV DNA is the other most important test, it says if the virus is replicating and how much.
HBE Ag and HBE Ab are also important, beside liver function tests.

Hope I helped with my answer. Don't hesitate to write again.

Take Care,
Dr. Ina Zaimi
