Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you child has cough and you gave crocin syrup which is not very effective for your child. Maxtra syrup you can give, in least possible dose as it has sedative effects, because contains phenylephrine which will decrease edema of bronhus and will cause excessive sleepiness. you should give it to your child before sleep and i would suggest you to give it for short duration, not more than 5 days. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Go for chest x-ray of child to check extent of infection. Give child steam inhalation. avoid cold beverages. Apply mist humidifiers in room.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
