What Is Recommended Dosage Of Maxtra Syrup For Cough In Children?
Hello doctor,My 3.5 year old daughter having fever since last 3 days . My dr. Suggested me to give her Crocin syrup three times a day. But since last 6 hours she having cough a lot because of that she s not able to sleep properly, can I give her maxtra syrup for cough and if yes what should be quantity please help me thanks.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you child has cough and you gave crocin syrup which is not very effective for your child. Maxtra syrup you can give, in least possible dose as it has sedative effects, because contains phenylephrine which will decrease edema of bronhus and will cause excessive sleepiness. you should give it to your child before sleep and i would suggest you to give it for short duration, not more than 5 days. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Go for chest x-ray of child to check extent of infection. Give child steam inhalation. avoid cold beverages. Apply mist humidifiers in room.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
