Hi,
Propecia contains
finasteride that is used in the treatment of
male pattern baldness or androgenetic
alopecia and sometimes in the treatment of benign
prostatic hyperplasia in men. Again, taking one quarter pill of Propecia daily would not have the same effect as one pill of Propecia daily. Finasteride belongs to the group of medications known as 5 alpha reductase inhibitors or 5 ARIs. If you can't take oral finasteride like Propecia, then you can use topical finasteride or another medication called
dutasteride is a suitable alternative. Dutasteride also belongs to the group of medications known as 5 alpha reductase inhibitors or 5 ARIs and can be used in the treatment of male pattern baldness.
According to the clinical studies, Dutasteride has been shown to treat and prevent hair loss. But this medication hasn't been approved by the FDA as a treatment for hair loss. Sometimes, oral medication called
minoxidil is a superb alternative. Minoxidil has been found to be an effective hair growth treatment for male pattern baldness. But before start taking any medication, you should consult your doctor first.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
