Hi welcome to HCM. I have read your question and understand your concerns. Yes at present you are taking adequate tablet for diabetes and palpitations.
In diabetes Tab Metformin (gluconorm SR) is the treatment of choice in any patients especially he is obese. Only side effect to be concerned is vit B12 deficiency and gastric upset.
Do your FBS, PP2BS AND HBA1c report every 3 monthly for adequate sugar control.
Regular daily walking and strict diet control is necessary for controlling sugar levels.
For palpitations it's at least one time necessary to check whether they are significant or not - just ask your doctor about Holter monitoring (24 hrs ecg monitoring of person) it will rule out dangerous causes of palpitations and reduce your anxiety. Thank you. Have a nice day.
