I am taking Lantus 10iu, Apidra 4-4-2 and Jalra 50mg. In the laeflet along with Jalra, they advice to take it in the morning. But my doctor advised me to take it in the afternoon. I am not taking any other medicines (except multi vitamins - Diatal). My HbA1C is 7). What is the best time to take Jalra (morning or afternoon)?

Hi,

Jalra 50mg is a medication used to treat high blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. The timing of medication is an important factor in the management of diabetes. The best time to take Jalra 50mg depends on various factors, such as the timing of other medications, the patient's meal schedule, and the patient's blood sugar levels.

As per the leaflet, Jalra 50mg is recommended to be taken in the morning before breakfast. This is because the medication works by inhibiting an enzyme in the intestine responsible for breaking down carbohydrates, which leads to a decrease in blood sugar levels after meals. Taking Jalra 50mg before breakfast allows it to be effective during the day when meals are consumed. However, your doctor may have advised taking Jalra 50mg in the afternoon for specific reasons. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions for medication timing.

It is also important to note that Jalra 50mg should be taken with food to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal side effects. The dose of Jalra 50mg may be adjusted based on the patient's blood sugar levels and response to treatment. It is important to regularly monitor blood sugar levels and report any significant changes to the doctor.

In summary, the best time to take Jalra 50mg depends on individual factors and should be discussed with the doctor. However, in general, it is recommended to take Jalra 50mg in the morning before breakfast with food.
