General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. PCOS will persist all your life time. But the disorders and symptoms caused by this can be managed and controlled by proper treatment. Infertility and insulin resistance are the main problems which are usually seen in PCOD. These can be controlled by weight loss, taking metformin tablets and liraglutide injections. If conservative treatment is not helping then surgical drilling of ovaries is helpful to attain normal ovulation and to get pregnant. Do you have irregular periods. ? If there is irregular periods and excess weigh then usually a 10 percent weight loss will be helpful to get a regular period.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
