The treatment protocol for beast cancer varies with patients, it depends on histological stage of cancer, patient status, size of the tumor and many other factors. Generally we go for combined modality approach which include surgical removal of tumor along with chemo and radiation. A radiation oncologist will decide the treatment depending on the histological features, some tumors respond well to chemotherapy are treated with chemo alone while chemo resistant ones are treated with chemo and radiation.
