Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from a case of Chronic and Resistant Jock Itch that is most commonly due to
fungal infection while at times can also be a bacterial infection..
As it is already 3 years with no complete resolution with the topical medications you have applied you should
consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Microscopic examination of the lesion, culture of swab from the lesion and blood tests to confirm the diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to apply a combination of antifungal and antibiotic ointment along with a high potency steroid ointment..
You can also be advised oral medications like Fluconazole, Gueifenesin,
Itraconazole etc.
You can be advised to wash the area with antifungal shampoo like
Ketoconazole..
Dip a wash cloth in a solution of one part vinegar and 3 parts of water and put it over the infected area..
You can also take anti allergics like Levocetrizine to relieve the itch..
In case if it is due to bacterial infection oral medications like Minocycline,
Erythromycin can be advised..
You can be given
topical antibiotic lotions/ointments like
Metronidazole,Clindamycin etc..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
