Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What are the best meds to lower blood pressure? The ones that do not have to many side effects? I am going to have to go on medication to lower my pressure, and wanted to know what anyone has used that has not had too many of the bad side effects.
I do not know of any that do not carry a side effect. What I do know is that what ever treatment that the doctor gives to you, it is very important that you maintain a balanced diet so as to maintain minerals that might be lost as a result of the treatment. Also a balanced diet will help to regulate your blood pressure. It is noteworthy that salt, which is very important in your diet should be used in moderation. Your vegetables can be cooked without salt if done in very small amount of water.

Exercise is also very important, even if it takes the form of brisk walking.
