What Is The Black Dot On The Outline Of The Iris And Redness In Eye?

Hi. Im a welder. Just wendsday I started feeling a pain in my right eye. It got real red so I put visine. Thought it was some debris. Yesterday it started hurting again and at night it got red again. This morning no pain but I go look in the mirror and there is a small black dot on the outline of the iris. The eye is still red. Ive been keeping covered because the light bothers. Just want know what the black dot is.

Hello
Since you are a welder by occupation you are prone to have corneal foreign bodies and corneal epithelial defects.
You have to use protective glasses compulsorily during welding.
The black dot which you are mentioning can be foreign body like iron particle. Hence you require examination and treatment by removal of the foreign object by a ophthalmologist.
