What Is The Blister Appearing On The Instep?

I have a 2cm diameter/0.5cm depth blister-like swelling on my instep just behind my big toe, which appeared overnight. It is not a friction blister and is not painful but during the day has got bigger and is extending into the space between my big and next toe. What could that be and should I see my doctor?
