Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I noticed a few years ago this small brownish colored spot on my chest. Over this past year another one has appeared connected to the first one but bigger and then another one even bigger a little above it. Also another small one actually a couple inches higher on my breast. They are also more of a reddish brown now and become bright red when wet. They are smooth and have no texture what so ever. I have no idea what they are. Any thoughts?
The lump size is increasing one adding to the another over a few years, not symptomatic, turning into red when wet, they are smooth and no texture. These are most probably a hemangioma. The redness says it all. No other lumps can be red. I would suggest you to get the following investigations. -Color Doppler with ultrasonography, No FNAC if there is blood into it. -Contrast enhanced CT or MRIangiography to determine the confirmation, its extent, if possible to get the number of feeding vessels, its extension inot chest wall or deep within. This helps in planning the surgery. To get the lumps removed for 2 reasons: 1. the disease is out of the body. 2. We get the histopathology diagnosis. and relaxation that this is not a cancer.
