What Is The Brownish Dark Freckle Inside The Mouth?
Hi, I am a 56year old female, I just noticed a brownish/dark freckle inside my mouth near corner of my lip. I have never noticed this before. I do not smoke. I am fair and have many freckles on my body all of my life, but never in my mouth. Is this a worry. Thanks

Well come to HCM
This could be vascular lesion and this is happening due to injury this would be kind of blister, some time this comes around on its own, if this does not then this can be given try with some mouth application with local application this may last for two weeks, reasons for this is not very well known,(if this is not injury) possibility of amalgam tattooing need to be ruled out, hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Development of new pigmented moles or freckles should be investigated and viewed with suspicion.
Majority of newly developed pigmented lesions are benign moles, however, dysplastic and malignant lesions should be ruled out be relevant investigations.
Thus, I suggest you to consult a dermatologist preferably for clinical assessment and thus management.
A close follow up of the lesion will be helpful to look for changes like increase in size of lesion, change in color, any bleeding etc.
