Dear Dr Rynne my son has had eczema since he was 13 months old, he is 16 now. Steroid creams (eleuphrat for his body and limbs, sigmacort and/or elidel for his face) has been the ways to treat the breakups with endless courses of antibiotics. the eczema is still there and causes a lot of concern for him, especially these days, when he became very self- concious. Just recently i read an article that talked about checking immune system/the lymph in order to identify if there are any viruses or bacteria that sit in his body and that perhaps could cause this condition. He has no obvious allergies apart from rye grass and mould. What your view on this lymph checking approach? If you think that this a good way forward, what should we do first? what kind of test? what are the treatment roots for various varisus and bacteria that may potentially cause eczema? Do you know any specialist in Australia or anywhere in the world rather who has had success by following the root of treating the lymph to eliminate (or at least alleviate) eczema? What steps should we take and whether we should take in this direction? All other treatrments used to date provided only temporarily relief. Many thanks in advance for your attention, Irina
