Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I am just wondering if there is anything I can do to help my boyfriend combat his hematemesis. He's been vomiting from the mouth for two nights now and it still has not ceased, even now. He still eats regularly, even though he probably shouldn't. I read somewhere that it may be due to stress, which he is under a lot of at the moment. I just wanted to know if there is anything we can do at home to help stop the bleeding. It is not in his mouth however! This is coming straight from his stomach and throat.
Causes can be bleeding tears in the esophageal mucosa, usually caused by prolonged and vigorous retching. I suggest an endoscopy and a visit to a gastrologist to confirm this diagnosis and treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
