What Is The Cause For Heaviness In Chest, Shortness Of Breath After Taking Amoxicillin For Strep Throat?
Hello, I've had strep throat for 3 days now and I've been taking amoxicillin. I started taking amoxicillin on the 2nd day and I took a nap after I took it. After I woke up I was feeling better but then things started getting worse. My chest feels like there's something heavy on top of it and at night I had a little bit of shortness of breath. The heavy feeling is still there but it's not as much as it was yesterday.
Hi and thanks for the query, Heaviness of the chest and shortness of breath are symptoms of lung and heart diseases. Since you are currently suffering from upper respiratory tract infection there is a chance that you have developed infection of the lung. Continue taking amox for 5 days. It will take care of any lung infecton. If you dont feel better in a day or two or if breathing difficulties persisit then please visit a doctor. Regards, Dr Kishori
